Who the Heck is Mr. Lowe?
Welcome!
If you've made it this far it means I've peaked your interest, now come to class! I am new in GP and looking forward to spending a nice, snowless, mild winter here in Northern Alberta. I recently married this past July, and a month later made the life choice to move from Ontario. As a geography geek, I found the drive to be quite spectacular for the most part! From the forests of Ontario, the thousands of lakes in Minnesota, wheat field after wheat field in Saskatchewan, to the epic climb into the foothills of Alberta.
I am a sports junkie! Being from Ontario, I am a huge Toronto Maple Leaf, and Blue Jay fan! I practically watch every game. I am excited to think that I can watch the Leafs play at 5pm now. Every Sunday, you can catch me watching football in my Eli Manning jersey (Go Giants!). Just so you don't think that I'm all Ontario, #99 has been my favourite number since I was a boy! Gretzky was my idol growing up as a young hockey player, and will continue to be the undisbuted, greatest to ever lace up the tacks!
As a 'heads up', my classroom is a safe environment. I do not put up with any bullying at ALL! Trust me, we'll have a blast in my class as I have a unique style of teaching, and love to have just normal conversations with my students. I am a coach at heart, so I do promote a team environment. If you see somebody is struggling academically, socially, emotionally, or just have a terrible day, I expect you appreciate and positively support that person. I have no room or time for selfish people, so when you enter OUR classroom, check your egos at the door.
Let's have fun, talk about life, and try to walk out our classroom better people than when we entered! If we do this, the academics will come easy!
I look forward to meeting each of you and getting to know you.
