International Organizations & Nationalism
Key Question: How have various international organizations affected nationalism?
Many of the forces that shape globalization - trade, safer and faster transportation, and improved communications - also shape the growth of internationalism. Each of these forces increases contact among countries at both governmental and non-governmental levels.
But some people believe that this increased contact is a double-edged sword. It may encourage internationalism and co-operation among countries. It may also erode the sovereign power of nation-states.
